Dear Mr. Rangeraver,

boy! You've really outdone yourself with this one! not only is this one of the finest jazz recordings I've ever heard (out of what must be thousands), but I may not have ever noticed it had you not brought it to my attention. What a fantastic group...and such a spontaneous session. Art Pepper didn't know he'd be recording with these men, whom he admired greatly, until shortly before the session. So, on this morning, Mr. Pepper awoke (OK, he probably awoke in the afternoon) not knowing that he'd be recording this phenomenal LP. He was so pleased that he said it really opened his eyes to the truth behind jazz and spontaneous creation. If you don't believe me, look at Kind of Blue, where the musicians had just then seen the charts.

Anyways, thanks a million for this. I love the straight-ahead jazz posts!

With great appreciation,
Harley
